The Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI) is one of the oldest professional association of Nurses in the world
with nearly 400000 members including all categories of nurses covering from practice nurse, educators,
researchers and administrators and also ANM and LHVs in public and private institution of Nursing at various levels.
The main idea behind the establishment of the Association in 1908 was to uphold in every way the dignity
and honour of the Nursing profession and to promote team spirit, high standards of Health Care and Nursing Practice
The Government of India has recognized the Association as a service organization in 1950.The TNAI has collaborated with
Government and non-government, national and international organization.
The TNAI organizes continuing education and skill training programmes for nurses to upgrade their
skills and efficiency since 1980. Apart from these, the Association is collaborating in organising workshops with
national and international organisations.
TNAI has been significantly contributing towards millennium development goals, sustainable development goals
and Universal Health Coverage and a also support the national health programmes.
